The PlayStation 3 is equipped with a feature known as High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection designed to encrypt copyright protected content.
If you have an older television, however, that does not support HDCP encryption, you may not be able to use your PS3 with it, even though it's high-definition. Examine the back of your TV or monitor to see which input options you have available. You can stream HD video over a component video connection which separates the red, green and blue channels of the video into separate, analog wires. Note that the inputs are color coded with the same colors, red, green and blue.
The red, white and yellow inputs are not HD, those are known as RCA inputs and will only handle standard definition video.
You can also use S-video, which is a circular port with several small holes in it. If your display is a computer monitor it will have either a Video Graphics Array port, which is a trapezoidal shape and typically colored blue or a Digital Video Interface; the computer connection is second only to component in terms of quality. Purchase a component or composite cable for your PS3.
Sony offers both the HD component cables and the standard definition composite cables for the PS3 system at sony. Use an adapter if you don't have component or composite inputs on your display.
Attempting to bypass HDCP for the purposes of violating copyright may be against the law in your region.

Wireless Display Adapter Disable HDCP
However I assume that if you could convert it to analog then you could view it that way, in other words no high er quality HD digital video. Mar 29, AM. Page content loaded. Is this offical from Apple?
I don't want to give up, unless all avenues have been exhausted! I don't want to use a HDCP remover in case anyone suggests that! Also, does anyone know if the same restrictions apply to running it in Bootcamp? If it is a digitial transfer you could copy the output with equal quality which is what HDCP is intended to prevent.
HDCP keys? I don't that much about HDCP other than it's gets in the way for many, but I would think that for the claim "HDCP compliant" it would need to follow the standard, and if wiki is to be believed they say.
I realise it's a few weeks since your original post, but you might like to try a DVI Parrot: www.
HDCP - Enable or Disable?
May 24, AM. We are trying to run PlaybackPro off two towers. Has anyone come up with a solution? Mar 19, AM. Jun 30, AM. I have the same problem as a VJ and event Director. I know is stupid but it works but only with broadcast resolutions, do to the SDI sginal.
Nov 10, AM. I have heard that there is a way to turn off the HDCP in a Mac, possibly at a very deep level, however protected content like HD movies won't display when that is invoked.
I know that is the case when using a Thunderbolt-VGA adapter now. Look at sites like Amazon and read the user reviews. Those are the ones! Nov 30, PM. Communities Contact Support. I have a p projector, which looks great, and in fact I just bought it last year. I didn't feel like spending the money on a 4K projector just yet.
I'll wait a few generations. However, one irritating issue that I ran into is that some studios are now only releasing their Dolby Atmos tracks on 4K discs, even though p Blu-ray supports it just fine. So I bought one. Unfortunately, as expected the projector does not support HDCP 2.
For 4K movies downsampled to p, that's actually not a problem, because the Panasonic Blu-ray player will happily handshake at HDCP 1. The weird quirk though is Netflix won't work at all.
Even if you manually force p output in the player settings the Netflix app refuses to even launch if it doesn't detect HDCP 2. It will handshake an HDCP 2. With this little guy in the chain, the player sees HDCP 2. I have to run sound separately to the receiver. It's clear there is some issue with 4K device compatibility with some older equipment, even when just transmitting p which shouldn't need HDCP 2. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking putting the Revesun HDMI splitter in the chain would eliminate this problem too.
According to other posters, HDCP is stripped completely. No replacement with HDCP 1. Last edited by EugW on Jul 19th, pm, edited 3 times in total. Useful find, thanks for sharing. What would be even better is an HDMI 2.
I would buy one. I hear they exist. They strip off the HDCP 2. Could it just be replacing HDCP 2. Either way, it fixes my compatibility issue for the projector.
RFD is not just about saving money, it's about the thrill of the hunt and getting the stuff I want without paying full price like Joe Shmoe did. This applies to everyday items as well as high end items that I don't really need. I have one of those 1.
I googled a bit and there was one guy in one other forum that linked to this same splitter and said it removes HDCP completely.
It already does 4k but not HDCP. Anyone can confirm? Offtopic, but I presume this is how pirates can get a true 4K copies of new movies?Keep in touch and stay productive with Teams and Officeeven when you're working remotely. Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services.
You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. Did this solve your problem? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for the quick reply.
The adapter is being used in a classroom with lecture capture hardware, so the adapter output feeds both a projector and a recording device. The recording device also captures an in-room camera and audio and puts it all together, so capturing the slides separately using Camtasia is not an option.
But since HDCP is always on from the adapter, I cannot record any screen that is being shared wireless. We use an "elgato" HDMI capture hub hd60 s to grab the output from our laptops, then use software such as OBS to blend a classroom camera and separate audio to the feed from the laptop for recording and remote sessions.
How to disable HDCP?
Same thing applies to when we have meetings. So to recap, we have people who display content from their laptops mac users too. This content is fed into a HDMI capture solution that blends other content too, or at the very least enables remote attendees to join meetings and such. I would just like to add further confirmation that this is not a unique issue. The functionality is becoming, increasingly, more of a requirement in educational settings. We're looking for a solution to allow the scenario in a tertiary educational setting at present.

I'm still not able to visualize what is connected to what and how. It's a cable standard that's put into place to prevent piracy. It can, however, interrupt signals even in otherwise innocuous situations. This information applies to televisions from a variety of manufacturers including, but not limited to, those made by LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, and Vizio. The acronym stands for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection.
Just like how DRM stops someone from sharing downloaded movies from iTunes unless the computer playing it has been authorized by the account that bought it, HDCP devices will only work if other cables and devices within the setup are also HDCP compliant. In theory, you cannot insert a recording device between the Blu-ray player or Chromecast to make an illicit copy of the content.
This is true for cable boxes, Roku Streaming Stick, audio-video receivers and most other modern high-def devices or players that interface with those devices. If you go the HDMI splitter route, position the splitter between the output and input device. What happens is that the request for the HDCP device your TV, Blu-ray player, etcis no longer transferred from the sender in this case the Chromecast because the splitter stops it from moving between the devices.

No need for the DVD Splitter. Or will the splitter device do it on its own? I cannot emphasize this enough!

The video sources asks for the secret code from the destination device, before it sends content, so the receiving party is authorized and can decrypt.
I cannot emphasize this enough! This article was not written with illegal copying, ripping or to promote piracy. This can be you old TV or projector, or trying to record game playing PS3making screenshots, or … my little ambient light project. One of the methods used, yet sometimes complicated and expensive, is by converting the signal for example to VGA, Component or Composite video. This conversion to an analog signal will result in a degraded picture quality, but the result might not be too bad.
Here is the Amazon link! Some devices, like the PlayStation 3 for example, have Component good for p if your TV supports it! Even the ones listed below might or might not do the trick. Key with these splitters seems to be that they support up to HDMI 1. HDMI 1. For those with a PlayStation 3 — it seems that the PS3 always has HDCP enabled, unless you have a developer device unlikelyso that or a BluRay player would work well as a source too. For other devices, the general rule is that HDCP will be enabled when copyrighted content eg.
After installing the splitter, the HDCP seems to be stripped and video recording or making screenshots works just fine. Donations are very much appreciated, but not required. Also, ambilight for my trusty old PS3 would be cool. I thought I had to reinvent the wheel here, but it seems already available at LightBerry. So I do expect to write an article soon …. However, this is independent of the remote functionality.
